Yet this trend will probably also boost demand for larger dwellings, increasing the demand for electricity.

China’s population is rapidly becoming middle class.

Still…that is not deterring China’s transition to a cleaner economy.

China government officials said the huge nation still planned to cut its emissions to net zero after peaking its emissions around 2028 …by 2060.

Developed nations will take about twice as long to reach net zero from their peak…50-70 years, the event was told..

My contacts at cop29 confirmed the trend… with recycled aluminium and plastics taking potentially decades to become mainstream in western economies …including in Japan.
