Liz Oyer, former pardon attorney for the Department of Justice, revealed that the Justice Department’s COVERED UP settlement with Donald Trump includes a secret clause that waives all claims against Trump and his associates, including future investigations, audits, and lawsuits.
This clause, signed by acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, also forfeits the U.S. government’s right to collect taxes or recover stolen funds from Trump and his businesses. Oyer condemned this as a betrayal of public trust and called for public action and potential legal challenges to the agreement.
The Justice Department’s settlement with Donald Trump is even worse than we knew. It turns out there was a secret part of the agreement that was hidden from us when it was announced yesterday. I just reviewed it, and I am struggling to find words to tell you how catastrophic and corrupt it is. I’m Liz Oyer, the former pardon attorney for the Department of Justice. Here’s the deal. Todd Blanche, in his official capacity as acting Attorney General, signed this one-page document right here. It’s called a release of claims, and here’s what it does. It signs away all claims against Donald Trump on behalf of the United States.
In other words, it says that Trump cannot be investigated, audited, or sued by the United States government in the future that includes any government agency, the Justice Department, the IRS, etc. In effect, this will end the ongoing audits of Trump and his companies, but that’s not all.
It forfeits our right to collect any taxes owed by Trump and his businesses, it waives our right to try to reclaim the money he stole from taxpayers, it gives up our right to sue him for damages, or to pursue really any legal recourse whatsoever against Donald Trump, and it binds the United States forever, meaning it applies even after Trump and Blanche leave office, and it’s actually even worse than that, because it’s not limited to just Donald Trump, it also signs away all of our claims against his companies, his family members, and his associates.
This is a staggering betrayal of the public trust, even compared to other bad acts by this administration.
This one stands out as especially unforgivably corrupt.
Trump and Blanche are colluding together to give away our money, our rights, and our democracy. I’m sure there will be lawsuits that will argue that this agreement is illegal and unenforceable, and hopefully they will succeed. I’m not sure who will bring them or when, but I’ll be keeping a close eye on it, and I’ll keep you informed. In the meantime, please help me sound the alarm. This is truly an emergency situation.

Liz Oyer, a former pardon attorney (Biden-administration appointed), accused the current administration of a criminal conspiracy involving the Justice Department and President. She detailed a settlement between Trump’s lawyers and the Justice Department, which created a $1.8 billion fund for Trump’s allies, dubbed the “anti-weaponization fund.” This fund, controlled by appointees with no oversight, will distribute money without legal justification, which Oyer described as a theft and fraud against taxpayers. She urged the public to protest and contact their representatives to block this settlement, emphasizing the urgency to protect democracy.
I try to bring you the legal news calmly and factually, but today the news is so outrageous that calm is just not possible.
Today we witnessed what I would call the greatest abuse of our legal system in history. It rises to the level of a criminal conspiracy between the President and the Justice Department. Let me explain. I’m Liz Oyer, the former pardon attorney for the Department of Justice. I told you last week about the sham lawsuit that Donald Trump filed against the IRS, seeking $10 billion in damages. The judge handling the case suspected the lawsuit was a farce, so she appointed a team of independent legal experts to evaluate the merits of the case.
They all agreed that it’s nonsense and it should be thrown out, but before the court could toss the case, Trump’s lawyers moved to dismiss it voluntarily. Why? Because Trump reached a settlement agreement with the Justice Department, which he controls.
Todd Blanche announced the settlement this morning. Here’s what it does: it uses taxpayer money to create a nearly $1.8 billion slush fund for Trump’s allies and supporters. They are calling it an anti-weaponization fund.
According to Blanche, the purpose is to compensate victims of lawfare and weaponization. The fund will have the power to issue both formal apologies and monetary relief. The fund will have five members who are appointed by the Attorney General and can be removed by the President.
These five people have total discretion to give this money, our money to anyone they choose with no oversight, no transparency, and no public input. I don’t say this lightly. This is straight up criminal.
By approving this settlement, the acting Attorney General has agreed, at the President’s request, to dip into the US Treasury, where our tax dollars are held, and give away our money to people who have no legal right to it, this is a theft of our property.
It is a fraud on the American people.
It is a criminal conspiracy at the highest levels of our government. As the Acting Attorney General, Todd Blanch is entrusted with defending the United States against frivolous lawsuits. He has a fiduciary duty to protect taxpayer money from false and fraudulent claims. He has abdicated that duty. He has betrayed the American people.
He has betrayed his oath to uphold the Constitution. This is the type of thing we should be protesting in the streets. I know it’s exhausting, but our democracy is depending on us to keep it afloat.
Please call your elected reps and demand that they block this settlement. Please make sure your friends and your neighbors know that this is a criminal abuse of the legal system. Please do whatever you can to spread the word and sound the alarm. Thanks everybody.
