Nov. 23-24, 2024 — Azer is fire. Baijan is guardian.
India says it can’t accept $300 billion a year “compromise” text on global climate finance suggested Azerbaijan at #cop29.
That is a tripling from current levels….yet timing is really weak…through 2035.
Azerbaijan, holding the rotating presidency of the UN climate talks, seemed keen to push through its climate finance talks “compromise” … the UNFCCC process seemed to be abused by the COP29 talks presidency …is my initial reading of the situation in Baku late Saturday …early Sunday (as I flew home to London).
I have multiple examples of incidents that indicate an abusive cover up of what happened at the end of the talks…despite all the hugging on stage. See, too, the other stories on carrzee.org. More to come.
Countries (not just India) line up to complain.
Envoys did apparently accept it in the end.
See this “unedited” text dated Nov. 24.
