COP29 adopts article 6.2 and 6.4 decision texts in Baku; strange UNFCCC secretariat behavior (1)

Nov. 22-24, 2024 — By Mathew Carr

This adoption happened around 8-10pm in Baku.

See these documents — not terribly transparent about when they were published. I had limited wifi on my way back to London.

Document A 6.4

While this is dated Nov. 21 at the above link…it might have been published later than that.

Document B 6.4

This is dated Nov. 22, here

https://unfccc.int/documents/644472

Yet it might have been published later than that, Baku time.

6.2

Apparently dated Nov. 22 (but might have been published later than that)

This is the “advanced unedited versions” website: https://unfccc.int/cop29/auvs

Weirdly the UNFCCC secretariat abandoned / made confusing its “documents” section on its website during the past several days …making it unclear when documents were published.

This made it more difficult for journalists to cover the outcome of the talks.

Very strange behavior by a taxpayer-funded organisation.
