Exclusive: 39 pages of whistleblowing at Bloomberg News 2016-2019 deemed by UK judiciary as not specific enough

Opinion by Mathew Carr

Oct. 29, 2024 — Years before Donald Trump recently accused Bloomberg’s head of news John Micklethwait as always being wrong … I was accusing him of sometimes being wrong (even though he was ultimately my boss).

I’m publishing this below for the first time ahead of a hearing today at the UK Employment Appeal Tribunal, where I’m fighting an order I pay Bloomberg $10,000 for its legal costs. Details below.

I already did publish this in December 2021, in case you missed it:

And I was trying really hard to blow the whistle on bad climate change news at Bloomberg News in London, before they fired me for it in May 2020. (They claimed my sacking was about competence.)

Stressful and costly litigation has ensued.

This PDF below has never been published before today

Here are the 39 pages of my written whistleblowing on bad climate change news coverage at the most influential news service on earth …which was deemed not specific enough to be officially whistleblowing by the UK judiciary… it includes the complete missive to Micklethwait…it includes emails to HR folks, colleagues, bosses and to the Navex whistleblowing service hired by Bloomberg …needless to say, I was surprised Bloomberg claimed it didn’t know about my whistleblowing as it brutally fired me after I told it my mother’s lung partially collapsed … she died two days before the first tribunal hearing on unfair dismissal/whistleblowing on July 8, 2020:

Snip to Micklethwait:

The climate is in deep trouble.

See here below for details of today’s hearing:

Anyone can come, if you are in London. There is airport-like security. So show up by 1.45pm London time to be sure.
