Feb. 7-8, 2024 — The scientist Michael Mann is challenging attacks on his work in a defamation suit that’s taken 12 years to come to trial.

The court heard allegations that Mann was sloppy with the source data that led to his “hockey stick” chart that shows big temperature jumps during the past few decades.

It was labeled a fraud.

The temperature gains have accelerated alarmingly the past several months. (See charts below.)

The trial could end as early as this week.

It’s really about free speech — not climate science, where the science is settled.

I’ve also been listening to this mislabelled podcast on the litigation … which I find to be quite biased against Mann.
