July 7, 2026 — The state threats bill being fast tracked through parliament right now could destroy British journalism.

Say ….the UK proscribes the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a state threat … under the National Security (State Threats) Bill when it becomes law.

As a journalist I could not lawfully go to the IRGC to get comment.

If I did so …. I could get thrown into jail for 14 years.

That’s because the law says taking info from IRGC —if proscribed—would be an unlawful benefit.
