Is the UN trying to play down the risk while Bezos’s WaPo seems to frame it for risk managers?

Is WAPO really alarmist or shouldn’t we be adopting messages that highlight worst-case scenarios?

They ARE the ones that matter, after all, because we humans should be trying to avoid risk.

See this below from UNFCCC this week, which seems to downplay the climate risks in my opinion, because it indicates things are or might be under control (blue area, matches UN colour):

Compare the chart above to these Washington Post charts below, which I reckon frame the climate risks correctly — the risk is rising and potentially exponentially.
