ABOUT GREEN TARA

Mother Tara is also known as Holy Mother of Liberation (E#*17#) in ancient China and Jetsun Dölma (egaa in Tibetan-speaking regions. All 21 forms of Mother Tara are revered as emanations of Avalokitesvara or Guanyin Bodhisattva. Green Tara is one of the 21 Taras.

She is depicted as a 16 year-old young lady with a green body, two arms and a compassionate appearance.

She wears five Buddhas crown on her head, adorned with many jewel ornaments and divine heavenly robes.

Green Tara sits on a lotus moon disc, with her right leg outstretched on a lotus and her left leg folded in the contemplative position.

Her right hand makes a wish-granting gesture with palm facing upward on her right knee and the left hand is placed in front of her chest, with both hands holding Utpala flowers (blue lotuses).

认识绿度母

度母，中国古代亦称为圣救度佛母，梵文称为Tara，在藏语地区则称为Jetsun Dolma。佛教里的度母一共有21尊，皆是观世音菩萨之化身。绿度母即21尊度母之一，此尊现少女相，全身绿色，一面二臂，现慈悲相。头戴五佛宝冠，身佩各种珠宝，着各色天衣；坐菩萨座于莲花月轮上，右足呈蹍踏状，左足踡屈。右手向外置于右膝上，作施愿印，持鸟巴拉花，左手置于胸前，亦持乌巴拉花。精进修持绿度母法门，能断生死轮回，消除一切魔障、业障、病苦等，并能消灾、增福、延寿、广开智慧，令一切善愿迅速成就，此生舍报后往生阿弥陀佛极乐世界。
