Spike in health-damaging emissions ‘ignored’ by British press; Knapp + link to deadly North Sea ‘theatre’? (5)

March 11-12, 2025.

Why was the air so polluted in England today? Could it be due to the meat industry?See my piece about today’s air pollution episode, which may be of interest: we.tl/t-wXTjRIEkZu#airpollution@plantbasednews.bsky.social @healthxr.bsky.social

Air cleared in London even faster than it became dirty

Here is Peter’s conclusion about the event:

“From the evidence I have seen and listed here, the air pollution spike across southern England on 10th March 2025 is likely to have been caused by ammonia from animal agriculture in the Netherlands reacting with NOₓ from internal combustion engines and residential boilers.

Both our individual dietary choices and direction of agricultural EU subsidies are significant drivers of air pollution events such as these.”

Here is Peter’s full, updated post.

True, it was a busy news day, but the mainstream press is still bad at covering bad-air events. BBC and Metro did cover nature destruction from the the collision. See below.

I wondered if Peter’s analysis underplays the importance of the weird North Sea collision March 10. (He says it wouldn’t have boosted emissions in London.)

“The collision was too far north and the air pollution was spread across the whole of Europe. I suspect the collision did contribute to air pollution around Humberside though,” he said in a National Union of Journalists What’s App chat.

Here is some data that shows emissions spikes in areas around the middle and east of England…yet it is difficult to be sure the spikes are caused by the ship collision.

“100 ug/m3 is similar to having someone smoking in the same room,” Peter told me, for context.

The Rotherham spike is somewhat compelling, yet quite far from the coast and appears to occur before the collision.

BBC on the collision:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cgq1pwjlqq2t

  • The collision involved the US-registered Stena Immaculate tanker – which was transporting jet fuel on behalf of the US military – and the Portuguese-flagged Solong: BBC
  • One cargo crew member is unaccounted for and the search has been called off after “an extensive search”, HM Coastguard says

One crew member is presumed dead.

Peter, earlier snip:

Wildlife in grave risk, BBC says

CarrZee : military involvement indicates this whole North Sea situation might be some sort of sinister stress test / false flag event to distract the media/ people while Ukraine (USA, UK) and Russia trade deadly drone attacks. Note PM Keir Starmer attacking welfare recipients simultaneously to create fear on multiple levels.

The ship names are theatrical ….So Long to Solong? An “Immaculate” oil vessel for the military … really??
