UK to Compensate Infected Blood Victims by £11.8b and Post Office Managers £1.8b: Budget (2)

Rachel Reeves, Britain’s first woman chancellor and Labour MP, said the previous Conservative government didn’t properly set aside money to deal with the controversies and create “vital” compensation programs.

Many of the victims were whistleblowers.

In her budget she established an Office for Value for Money, said the government will chase corruption linked to the Covid pandemic.

Total taxes to be raised will be £40 billion (I think she said).
