As new Covid pandemic rips through UK, Labour distracts from damning 2020 inquiry results with war summit

18 July 2024 — The new Labour government is showing it has about as much shame as the Tories — almost none.

Instead of holding Rishi Sunak’s Tory administration to account for the appalling governance during the pandemic, Keir Starmer played along with the Sunak distraction for the world — a European leaders summit …which appears to have achieved very little.

It will be fascinating to watch the newspaper front pages tonight (Thursday night) to see which editors play the deception game with blue and red Tories (Labour).

How many will run with the litany of pandemic failures on their front pages?

BBC pandemic snip from Thursday afternoon:

Today’s front pages ignored the pandemic mismanagement, with a few focussing on today’s distracting conference.

Was there a deal whereby the blue Tories agreed to go early on the July 4 election in return for help from the red Tories (Labour) in covering up the bad behavior of the blue Tories during the pandemic?

The people suffered and are suffering still.

Myself and heaps of people I know have been sick recently with Covid-19-like symptoms…and no one is doing anything to stop the sickness spreading around this time.

It’s a stark contrast to 2020.
