Comment: Assange freed ahead of UK election, highlighting Keir Starmer’s role in prosecution (and Rishi Sunak’s) (2)

June 25, 2025 — A cynic might say the Rishi Sunak Conservative UK govt is trying to get an uplift before the July 4 elections. Starmer, leader of the Labour opposition, also had a role in prosecuting Assange.

It’s a great day for free speech. Bad day for warmongers. Evidently his plea deal includes him not speaking immediately.

He’s heading back to Australia, apparently….via a plea hearing on a very remote island, here:
