UK Tories deserve credit for allowing students to get a masters degree via apprenticeship

By Mathew Carr

May 30, 2024 — It’s surprising that the Conservatives have done so much for social mobility…since they are known for protecting the establishment.

My kids’ school Morpeth High in East London said the current education system now allows multiple ways for kids and adults to further their education …boosting their family’s opportunity and wealth.

I attended a session at the school a few months ago where parents from deprived backgrounds and others were shown in detail how to take advantage of the current system …which now allows someone to achieve a masters’ degree effectively without paying university fees.

(It takes longer since the student is working throughout)

It’s effective collaboration between private companies offering apprenticeships and schools, universities.

I’m not so convinced about the Tories’ policy to limit education immigration.

The Tories have been in effective power for 14 years and there is a parliamentary election to be held July 4.
