The UK govt has been barely engaging with its voters (key Conversative Party members), let alone acting enough to prevent climate change, according to individuals on social media who are calling for the nation’s next PM to take the matter more seriously.
Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss are the final two candidates for the PM role and … both had / have leadership positions in the existing govt … so can leopards change their spots?
To be sure, as president of the UN climate talks, the UK’s Alok Sharma did a lot of outreach in the lead up to climate talks last November in Glasgow — and beyond. It is still surprising how little the governing Tory party speaks about detailed climate action to their own British supporters.

There is such a clear trend that publishing good intentions no longer cuts the mustard (whatever that means).
The point is that actions are now required. Mandatory steps and metrics are the order of the day. It is an emergency (some missed that memo) and we absolutely aim to support the politicians with teeth who put mandatory steps in place to reach quantified targets.
This is doable, we are seeing shifts in mature markets internationally in the built environment and other sectors who have gone beyond good intentions and are already implementing best practices and pioneering case studies and advanced route maps and methodologies to enable quantifiable change for good.
Politicians who do not get the central message that socio-environmentalism is key and do not make it a central pillar to their work have completely missed the boat.
Sadly we saw the apathy of many PM candidates who slowly agreed there was a problem with the environment.
Honestly, I really wonder why they stand for leadership roles if they don’t know the key facts of the decade.
Heaven help us all.
The following story might also apply to Truss, not just Sunak. Still, the UK is seeking to be part of a clean-energy, globalish, digital trade deal called the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and Truss has been driving that push.

Thankyou for stirring the waters, every single one of us needs to keep the pressure on until we start seeing the 6 transgressed planetary boundaries back in their thriving boxes, I suspect we will both die trying! Yet, there are some incredible people we are working with who are making real changes, in certain arms of the government too, all is not lost, yet.
