When women candidates run, the coverage doesn’t take them seriously.
The media waits for female candidates to be first taken seriously …by voters.
Meanwhile voters assess candidates as they are presented …in the media.
It’s a cycle. A trap.
A campaign then has to break through that cycle (which is almost impossible) and that challenge takes big money.
Guess what drives donations? …viability.
The viability loop keeps women candidates on the starting block.
