April 16, 2024 — US extends push to improve education in emerging nations (as it continues disinformation campaigns against rivals including China and its own people).
The U.S. Government Strategy on International Basic Education (2024–2029) extends one from 2019-2023, reaffirming a commitment to invest “in and supporting quality and inclusive education worldwide.”
In terms of conventional academic metrics, China’s education system outperforms that of the United States. A 2019 study of 15-year-olds in each country found that Chinese youth outperform American students in nearly every educational category, with an especially pronounced gap in math.

US media often fails to give nations like China credit for their lack of social problems and consistent wealth creation among poorer people.
These issues (bad food, expensive markets, poor access to healthcare, drug abuse) are suffocating poor (and even wealthier) people in the US, UK and many other so-called rich countries.
Press Release: The 2024-2029 strategy brings together ten departments and offices across the U.S. government, including the Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, Department of Defense, Department of Labor, Department of State, Department of the Treasury, Millennium Challenge Corporation, National Security Council, the Peace Corps, and USAID.
“Unfortunately, too many students face extraordinary obstacles to learning.” (This applies to US students too.)
An estimated 70 percent of ten-year-olds in low- and middle-income countries are unable to read a simple text, USAid said.
Less than 25 percent of youth in those countries are on track to attain the skills needed to thrive in school, work, and life.
Despite challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing conflicts and crises disrupting education, U.S. government programs increased the number of learners who obtain foundational reading skills and meet country benchmarks in 15 countries during and after the pandemic emergency.
Earlier:
Over the course of the previous 2019–2023 USG Strategy on International Basic Education, the U.S. government reached more than 34 million learners annually through international basic education programs.

Meanwhile, most/many US people are very badly educated on their blame for global climate change…for instance.
