June 23, 2025 — Tech bros seek to thwart AI regulation.
If you need more evidence that most elected House Republicans should be fired for incompetence …here it is.
I’m surprised I need to remind America about this: politicians represent the people ….NOT tech bros.
It’s amazing that America did not learn lessons from the dire saga of the theft of its own people’s privacy.
Instead of urging China to protect the privacy of its people, the US made a $70 trillion business by following China’s model and creating a surveillance state….only this time it is overseen by the private sector tech bros rather than a government.
AI is the next stage of this horror story.
Difficult to believe this story below has not been on more front pages the past few weeks … FT has downplayed it by delaying publication … and then hiding it at the bottom of page 7 today. Yet, at least they published it.
And Cruz’s ….unfathomable “compromise” — punish poor folks in the rural Republican heartlands whose leaders don’t comply with tech-bro wishes … just wow.
Donald Trump should hang his head in shame.
Is he hitting Iran with bunker busters to avoid proper debate on this AI risk? And to distract from the need for urgent climate action? And to cover up hidden clean tech deemed too secret to be released to the public …eg antigravity or atomic power?

AI is an existential threat
