This is an ambit negotiation position IMO.
The pink area more justly could become a new country which could democratically choose affiliation with Russia if it wants… but would not be able to choose NATO or EU affiliation for a period … unless Russia gets that choice too.
Yes I’m raising the prospect of closer EU – Russia collaboration…this is what America fears most.
