My key point:

The report does not emphasise enough that the relatively high carbon prices in the UK, which deter investment in and use of fossil fuels. They also protect clean energy assets from competition from polluting rivals.

The UK has an extra carbon price support, which means the effective British carbon price can be higher than the EU allowance levels. About 80% of emissions worldwide face no carbon prices at all …and where they do they are much lower than in the UK and Europe.
